Community Project

abigel Throughout the years, Hope of Africa has been committed to provide services such as Community Health Fair Screening, providing volunteers and mentoring program at transition home, feeding homeless shelter, and participating in causes such as AIDS Walk Atlanta and Autism.

Community Health Fair screening

In 2010, and 2011, we conducted a community based health promotion through our Health Fair Screening. With the help from several partners, we were able to provide BP, Vision and Hearing testing, Diabetics, HIV/ AIDS testing, Mammogram testing, Mental Health Evaluation. The outcome of both events was overwhelming and we were able to reach a large segment of the public so as to identify those at risk of the disease.

Mentoring Program

Our organization is very proud to work with committed college students looking to give back to their community. Throughout the year, we assigned students to mentor middle school age children living in transition homes.

Feeding Homeless Shelter

With the help of our partner, GIANT Inc, we were able to donate 20 cases of iced teas, and 25 boxes of chips and crackers to Atlanta Mission Center. We also donated 5 cases of Iced Teas, and 10 boxes of chips and crackers to Rainbow Inc.

Causes: AIDS/HIV

As, AIDS and HIV continue to rise in our communities, we strive to bring HIV awareness by promoting AIDS education, HIV testing and participating in the annual HIV/AIDS walk to raise funds for medical research.
